Working around a hospital shift schedule shouldn’t mean waiting weeks for garage door service. Helotes Overhead Garage Doors has been serving the Medical Center area since 1985, and we understand that a lot of our neighbors out here work nights, rotating shifts, or long hospital hours. We’re a local, family-owned company that works around your schedule, not the other way around — no franchise markup, no upselling, just honest service that respects your time.

The Medical Center area is built around one of the largest medical complexes in the country, and the neighborhoods here reflect that — a mix of established single-family homes, apartments, and rental properties housing everyone from hospital residents and nurses to longtime homeowners who’ve lived here for decades. It’s a community that runs on unusual hours, and we’ve adjusted how we schedule service to match.
Helotes Overhead Garage Doors was founded by Tracy Dever in 1985 and is now run by his son Nathan. We know the Medical Center area’s rhythm — shift workers who need a service window that doesn’t require missing sleep after a night shift, and busy professionals who don’t have time to sit around waiting for an all-day appointment window. We install C.H.I. doors for homeowners upgrading aging systems, and we service LiftMaster openers for a community that values reliability above almost everything else.
Forty years in, we’re still the same family business we started as — honest pricing, real experience, and a schedule that works with your life instead of against it.

We can schedule early morning, evening, or specific windows that fit your shift pattern rather than forcing you into a generic all-day appointment block. Just let us know your schedule when you call and we’ll do our best to accommodate it.
We understand that urgency, and we’ll do what we can to prioritize it. Same-day service is available in most cases. Call us directly at (210) 695-8983, explain the situation, and we’ll work to get you taken care of quickly so you’re not stuck waiting around after a long shift.

Yes. Multi-family and gated properties are common near the Medical Center, and we’re experienced working with property-level access systems, shared garage entrances, and the coordination that comes with them. Let us know the setup when you call and we’ll plan accordingly.
Yes. We offer after-hours emergency service for situations that genuinely can’t wait — a door that won’t close and secure your home, a spring failure that traps a vehicle inside. Given how many of our Medical Center neighbors work overnight hours themselves, we understand that “normal business hours” doesn’t always apply.
