Recently, we had the opportunity to donate our time and manpower to a good cause. We were asked by the Greater Helotes Little League to help them install a rolling overhead door on the building that houses their bathrooms to that they’d be secure when the stadiums weren’t in use. Initially, the Little League representatives contacted us looking for a quote – they intended to pay for the service. However, because we’re ingrained in the Helotes community and believe in giving back to those who have helped us grow over the past thirty-plus years, we discussed the project internally and decided to do the installation free-of-charge.

Since there was no door of any sort when we started the project, we had to carefully determine the proper course of action to make sure that we attached the overhead door correctly and in a way that would be easy to manuever while still being secure and providing that added level of safety. Once we put the right plan together, we worked with the representatives from the Little League to find the door color and material that they thought would work best, and got to work.

The installation process was pretty straight-forward. We attached the vertical runners to the cinder-block walls and then installed the door and roll. After a few tweaks and adjustments to make sure the rolling door was easy to manuever, we were able to present the completed project to the Little League representatives, who loved the way the project turned out. Now, the bathrooms at the ballparks are safe and secure, and (in our humble opinion) look great, too! We’re proud to have been able to help a local organization that gives so much to the children and families in our community.
